Federica Biasi was born not far from Milan, and graduated with honours from the Istituto Europeo di Design European (‘European Institute of Design’) in 2010. In 2014, she moved to Amsterdam in order to study and understand Nordic design and emerging trends, focusing on the particular aesthetics and formal simplicity that has inspired her own personal style. She is currently Art Director of the office design company Manerba, and of Mingardo, the exclusive craft brand working with metal materials in collaboration with Carlo Scarpa. Federica is also a creative consultant for design companies such as Fratelli Guzzini concerning research and forecasting of international trends in colours, materials and finishes, and the evolving know-how of partner companies. Federica’s work focuses on the industrial design of furniture, table-ware and surfaces such as carpets, rugs and wallpapers. She regularly designs for companies such as Potocco, Manerba, Gallotti & Radice, CC-Tapis, Mingardo, Nason Moretti, My Home Collection, Fratelli Guzzini, and more.
