Claudia Scarsella

Artist and architect

Claudia Scarsella is a multidisciplinary artist and architect.
She graduated in Fashion Design Womenswear from Central Saint Martins College in London, and in Architecture from Politecnico di Milano.

Scarsella has chosen to express herself in the alphabet of collage, both analog and digital. She assembles photos, hand-drawn illustrations and woven graphics into shimmering, emotional visualities.
Her collage generates sculptures, installations and patterns which are often applied to products by leading design brands such as Seletti or to interiors through wallpaper and fabrics.

In 2001 London’s Victoria and Albert Museum hosted her Curvaceous project; in 2010 she was the winner of the Arte Magazine Gold plaque in Graphics; in 2014 she created a series of collages for the ad campaign of Convivio charity fair, directed by Vogue Italia’s editor-in-chief Franca Sozzani, making history as the first artist other than a Vogue photographer to be handed this prestigious assignment; in 2017 Scarsella designed a permanent installation on wallpaper in the whole building of The Pinball Luxury Suites, Italy.
From 2021 her work features in the Soho House Collection.
Beside her personal research in the Visual Arts, Scarsella carries on collaborating and consulting within the Architecture and Design fields.
